theres zero difference between this and the way we talk about signing players like Arnie from Stoke or other prem league teams around us.

Coffee - I would suggest that the answer is already in what I wrote?

The date went splendid thanks, I'm seeing him again on Friday.

He may have said that, but I bet he means he wants to achieve that with us.

It's almost impossible for us to break the top 6, any thoughts of wining or even challenging for the title is pie in the sky

and before anyone brings up Leiecester, that was 5000-1 so on average it may happen again in 4997 years time

I think he will stay next season but I can't see him being here in 3-4 years time

Do you think we're not close to going places?

How was your date the other night?

Bob De Niro 1:12 Mon Feb 11
Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
In the last 6 weeks alone we have failed to beat Brighton, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Watford, Bournemouth and Wimbledon yet according to many on here we are close to going places?

in the mix would mean having owners that want to achieve more out of a season than 4th from bottom. the dwarves are happy with survival

Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
Lily, you really think we have a chance of getting in the mix?
We have absolutely no chance until the current owners go. All we are doing despite all the noise is investing an average amount compared to others in the prem.
Out while infrastructure needs an overhaul including our 2nd rate training facilities to have a chance. We are still amatuer in the way we are run compared to those pushing for titles and champions league and as much as I hate to say it we are miles behind the top 4 and still a way off the other clubs you mention.

He may have said that, but I bet he means he wants to achieve that with us.

Perhaps I'm being stupid, but I think he'll give us a fair chance to do that. He won't fuck off at the first opportunity.

If we have a bit of luck with injuries, and a repeat of decent investment in the summer, then there is a small chance of getting in the mix, because Chelsea and Arsenal are far from convincing, and I'm not convinced Liverpool can keep up the high standards they've set themselves of late.

High hopes, I know, but Declan could do a lot worse than sticking with us for a few seasons before getting itchy for a move.

50m for a bloke who's not a midfielder?

Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
He;s already spoken about wanting to win League Championships so it' pretty much a given he'll go at some stage, just a question of when and making sure we get properly paid

Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
I don't know if it's just me but I thought Declan had a quiet game yesterday. I wouldn't say he was poor but he seemed to be playing it safe and not getting involved as much as usual. We missed his proactive presence, especially second half.

Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
Nobody is going to pay anything like 70m for him in the current climate. Someone might offer 50, which we should consider carefully.

So you'd now take £49mil more than you would've taken for him in the summer.

Genius.

Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
The way Tottenham haven't been spending money I can't see them being able to splash out anytime soon so 50m on one player I doubt would be on their agenda especially as they have Dier who pretty much plays that position anyway.

Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
He'll be with us the next 2 or 3 seasons.... if he has got any sense that is.... he has got regular 1st team football here... if he goes to City, LFC, Man U, Chelsea I can see him sharing duties and not getting a regular gig... that's obviously the situation at the moment...

Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
The media have nothing better to do than rake up news/stories which sells their paper, they couldn't give a toss about the clubs and loyalty.

Saw Sessegnon linked with one of the Manchester clubs for £50m, makes any offer for Declan short of £100m worthless. Having said that agree that we must not sell, and stuff the spuds!.

As an 'old timer' I find it very sad the way football is now driven by greed and money, used to love the game once but not today.

Jasnik the lord iswith us, always.

When we leave this earth the last thing we feel is the tranquility of his love. The first thing we experience on the other side is a big embrace of lordly love- like being smothered by a big bean bag full of 1980s soft undulating tits from a porn mag. Its like the lights go out and we are plunged into a bucket of angel delight with that ice cream sauce that freezes like concrete on it. Like bovril toast being forced up your bum clonge.

This is the same when we lost Rio the point is with our stadium we should be looking to be the bigger club .

Declan needs to stay like Rio should have .

Re: Declan Rice- The arrogance of the “big clubs”
Like we'd sell the future captain of the club (and possibly of England or Ireland) to Daniel Levy's mob. You know, the club (Tottenham) that took Scott Parker and others for a song when we were desperate. The Express's article is a wind up by a Spurs supporter.
